Some 1,500 runners and nearly 300 company relay teams reported to the starting line on 2 September, kicking off another edition of Gdańsk Business Run. Among them were three TORUS SQUADS. Competition was tough, but it did not eclipse the more important charitable cause of the event. According to the organisers, nearly 110,000 PLN was raised from entry fees alone. Torus was a co-organiser of the event.
Poland Business Run is the largest charity business run that helps to realise the dreams of people with amputations. The run is conducted in a relay format with five participants per team, each person running approx. 4 kilometres. The event has been organised for the last six years, increasing in attendance and popularity each year, with nine Polish cities taking part in 2018. The initiative serves not only to support people with disabilities but also to promote an active lifestyle and integration of business with the local community. Gdańsk has seen three editions of the event so far, with Torus taking part as contestant and organiser since the beginning. This year saw three very competitive and hard-to-miss TORUS SQUADS – our employees sported helium-filled balloons with cheeky slogans like “catch me if you can”, „5.5km/h speed limit” and „goń mnie!” [chase me!]. One of our runners was none other than our Chairman, Sławomir Gajewski – a team leader definitively worth following!
All in all, emotions ran high and everyone had a great time. We are sure it won’t be the last!
