Euro Styl, part of Grupa Dom Development (Poland’s largest residential property developer), has sold over 1.3 ha of its lot in Młode Miasto, designated for office buildings. The buyer, Torus, is a commercial real estate development specialist. These two local, leading developers have teamed up to build DOKI (Polish for ‘the Docks’) – a multi-purpose investment project. Młode Miasto, a historical and chic district of Gdańsk, will see approx. 1,100 apartments and retail spaces, as well as 37,000 sq. m of office space (in the first stage of development).
‘In order to find a partner with specialist commercial investment experience, we sent out an invitation to tender. We wanted a solid, experienced company we could trust and one that could guarantee us the right quality of office space. Torus is one of the leaders in the office market that values timeless architectural presentation, which is something we too respect. We also wanted a promise that the office buildings would be constructed at the same time as our residential buildings, thanks to which DOKI are sure to quickly come to life and function at full capacity. I also believe entrusting the management of this key urban area to local companies that understand its nature will be of great value to Gdańsk.’
Michał Konopka, Euro Styl President and Dom Development board member
‘During the last decade we have concentrated our efforts in Gdańsk Oliwa, contributing to the new, business character of the suburb. Still, the Tricity area is in need of new business centres. We still believe the best locations for this type of services lie along the main transport routes. Młode Miasto, the downtown part of Gdańsk, is a location with great potential – a former industrial zone with a new purpose and modern, urban development, demanding a quality architectural style to match its legacy. Though today we are all facing challenges of a different kind, we must think about the future and that future will belong to places like Młode Miasto. This will be our primary project in Gdańsk over the next few years. We intend to implement the highest standard of office buildings we have delivered in Oliwa. I am grateful for the trust placed in us by Euro Styl. I am certain this ‘business duo’ of local developers will soon help create a new, important place in Tricity and in the country.’
